Rhinebeck Competes in Saratoga

For the second straight year Rhinebeck Crew made an impressive showing at the New York State Scholastic Championships in Saratoga Springs.

Freshman and Novice boats got a taste of big time competition and the team came home with two sets of medals. Highlights included:

– The Girls Novice 4 placed first and are the reigning New York State Scholastic Champions, with an impressive time of 7:41!

– The Girls Lightweight 8 placed third and qualified for the National Scholastic Championships in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with a time of 6:04.

– The Girls Junior 4 qualified for the State finals in a crowded field and rowed an impressive time of 7:06.

– The Boys Junior 4 also rowed in a crowded field and just missed the finals with a time of 6:43.

The Saratoga Regatta features the best crew teams in the State. Rhinebeck Crew competed admirably, with limited practice time on the water due to the extended winter season.

Thanks to all of the rowers and coaches for representing Rhinebeck proudly and respectfully. And to the entire Rhinebeck Crew family for the tremendous effort leading up to and during the weekend.
