For the first time in its history, all of the Rhinebeck Crew entries advanced in the time trials and into the finals heats. While Saturday was a beautiful day for rowing, Sunday turned cold and blustery and the races were canceled after only a few hours.
Our Novice boats once again performed impressively at States:
Womens Novice Four A came in second place overall in the scholastic division (this is the third year in a row that the program has medaled in this event!).
Womens Novice Four B won their respective finals 2 heat with an impressive time.
Rhinebeck also had two Men’s Novice 4 boats advance in the time trials and place 4th and 5th overall in the scholastic division.
In the Varsity division:
Mens Lightweight Four placed 2nd in their respective finals heat.
Mens Varsity Four advanced to the finals
Womens Lightweight Eight advanced to the A Finals and placed 4th in the scholastic division
Womens Lightweight Four A and B boats advanced to the finals
Womens Senior Four advanced to the finals
Womens Junior Four advanced to the finals

And thanks once more to all of the parents, coaches and rowers who pitched in to help during the weekend, with a special shout out to Chris Lipscomb (and Monique!) for driving the trailer to and from the event. We had a big group that stayed until the bitter (cold) end, which was greatly appreciated!
Hope to see everyone at the Novice races this Sunday!
Finally, please put the Rhinebeck Crew BBQ/Year-end Banquet on your calendars, Saturday June 12 from 4-7pm at the Poughkeepsie Boathouse. All rowers are to show up at 3pm for the annual boat clean up and storage effort.
