Rhinebeck Crew Ends Year on Good Note

Rhinebeck Crew enjoyed racing on the Hudson River to support breast cancer research June 3. Our teams fared well in the competition and spent the day participating in the festive atmosphere. We are proud to be a part of such an important event supporting a good cause. Results are here. Full States results are here. The races were followed by our end of year banquet at the Hudson River Rowing Association boathouse, where varsity letters and finds were presented by coaches. One final big thanks to all the rowers for rowing hard and making the Rhinebeck Crew family proud. We had a great year and we hope to see all of our seniors back next year at the river! Thanks also to all of the coaches and parents who have given so much of their time and energy to such a wonderful group of young student-athletes. See you in 2019!

2018 Hudson Valley Rowing League Championships

Rhinebeck Crew advanced all of their boats through time trials to finals races, all finishing either first or second in their heats. Two of our boats medaled in finals races! The Hudson Valley Rowing League awarded the Rhinebeck Crew Girls team the regular season Championship trophy and plaque for amassing the highest number of competition in races throughout the 2018 season. This is the first year Rhinebeck has won this prestigious award!

A Day at the Dutchess Cup

It was a beautiful evening on the Hudson River for the 2018 Dutchess Cup. Rhinebeck Crew competed well with a limited roster in this mid-week race. Our Novice teams also performed well at the HRRA Novice Championships at Pinewood Lake, New Jersey, with our Novice Girls 4 boat finishing 1st! Thanks to all of our parents who made the long trip and supported our team at the race. This week’s post features the incredible photography of our own Ricardo Gutierrez. Enjoy! We are looking forward to finishing the season strong at the 2018 Hudson Valley Rowing League Championships on Saturday June 2, followed by Row for the Cure on Sunday June 3 to benefit Breast Cancer. As a reminder our year end banquet will also be on Sunday June 3rd at 4pm at the Poughkeepsie Boathouse.

2018 New York State Championships

Rhinebeck Crew participated in the New York State Rowing Championships May 12 and 13 in Saratoga Springs. More than 70 teams competed in time trials on Saturday with hopes of advancing to final races Sunday. All but one of our boats advanced to finals races amongst very strong competition. We could not be more proud of how well our team performed and represented both the Rhinebeck High School and the Rhinebeck community throughout the weekend. Many thanks to the coaches and parents who helped throughout the weekend, from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. We could not do it without you! Full States results are here.

Rhinebeck Crew Wins Four Golds at Triangulars

At the May 5 Triangulars Regatta at the HVRL Boathouse on the Hudson River, Rhinebeck teams had a breakout day with four golds among a host of impressive performances. Our Novice team placed first in two races: Girls Novice Four and Mixed Novice Eight. Our varsity team also had two first place finishes, in the Girls Junior Eight and Boys Lightweight Four. A special shout out as always to all of the rowers, coaches and parents who stayed into the night to support the team!

HRRA Indoor Sprints

Rhinebeck Crew competed in the Hudson River Rowing Association Indoor Sprints competition this past weekend at Marist College. All rowers who attended rowed in the competition with several placing in the top three in their respective categories. Thanks to all team members who showed up to row, serve as coxswain for their fellow rowers and support the team. Looking forward to getting onto the water and ready for our first race April 21st!

A Great Year!

Rhinebeck Crew competed in two regattas over the past weekend: Hudson Valley Rowing League Championships Rhinebeck Crew raced with a limited team as many of our rowers had conflicting academic priorities. However, the team performed well, highlighted by the Lightweight Mens 4 finishing first in their qualifying race and third in the finals. Rhinebeck showed well in many races highlighted by our two Mens Varsity 4 boats coming in 1st and 2nd respectively. Our Womens Varsity 4 boat also captured 1st place! View Full Results Farewell to Our Seniors It was also the last day of high school rowing for our five departing seniors: Emily Entner, Theresa Melvin, Isabel Murray, Alex Selchert and Sabrina Shih. We wish them well as they head off to college and to pursue what we know will be bright futures. But mostly we thank them for their leadership, competitive spirit and their support for their teammates over the past four years. We hope to see them all back as alumni rowers at Row for the Cure next year! We look forward to seeing everyone at our year end banquet this Sunday, June 11 at 4pm at the Poughkeepsie Boathouse!

Dutchess Cup

Rhinebeck Crew fared well at the recent Dutchess Cup on the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, with our Varsity Boys 4 boat coming in FIRST PLACE! Additionally our Lightweight Girls 4 boat came in second place and our Junior Girls 4 boat came in third place in their respective races.
